Eric Broad
Partner
Eric is an Emerging Companies and Venture Capital attorney that works as “Outside General Counsel” for private companies and investors of all types, sizes, stages and industries, assisting with all of their legal needs. Eric is also an entrepreneur in his own right – starting Bowery Legal after spending years in the Emerging Companies departments at Latham & Watkins and Gunderson Dettmer. After investing years of his life at corporate-in-every-way “BigLaw” firms, Eric decided there must be a better way to practice law, which is how Bowery Legal came to be. Eric got his undergraduate degree from the business school at Tulane University and got his JD from NYU School of Law. Prior to law school, he spent several years in Southeast Asia (living in Indonesia) working as a consultant to the governments of Indonesia and Thailand on a large-scale internet infrastructure development project called “Meaningful Broadband,” aimed at using internet as a tool to improve the quality of life of the poorer populations in developing countries. During that time, he regularly worked with entrepreneurs and innovators trying to cultivate various solutions and killer applications to help the project succeed. That’s where he developed a passion for work with founders and startups, which he has continued into his current legal career, using his experience and expertise on a daily basis to help his clients succeed.

Ray is a startup and venture capital lawyer, partnering with high-growth companies across all industries on a broad spectrum of legal matters ranging from corporate formation, corporate governance, venture capital financing to liquidation events. Most of all, he enjoys working with founders and investors as their outside general counsel on the most important areas of law for early-stage companies, including initial entity setup, debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, corporate governance, commercial transactions, joint ventures, tax matters, joint ventures employment and securities compliance. Ray graduated from Duke University and Columbia Law School, and he started his career in the mergers and acquisitions practice at Skadden and as a general corporate attorney at Gunderson Dettmer. During his free time, Ray loves to snowboard, play tennis and indulge in all kinds of Korean cuisine.

Counsel

Mike is a startup and venture capital lawyer, with a half-decade of prior experience as a mergers and acquisition attorney for various Fortune 500 clients. He joined the Bowery Legal team to pursue his goal of working with bright and pioneering founders in their early-stage companies, along with the investors who see the promise in backing and nurturing such ventures. He enjoys assisting young companies in the full gamut of legal matters that arise throughout a startup’s lifespan, from formation to financing to eventual acquisition or IPO, as well as in all the various day-to-day matters in between. Mike graduated from Tulane University and NYU Law, and formerly practiced as a member of the corporate teams of Greenberg Traurig and Mayer Brown. He does his best to balance his love for traveling with not wanting to be away from his dog for too long, and you might bump into him playing pick-up basketball around New York City.

Enes Sevencan
Law Clerk (foreign certified attorney) pending admission to NY Bar
Enes was educated and trained as an attorney in Istanbul, Turkey, one of the greatest cities in the world to visit (and live)! After practicing at Baker McKenzie's Istanbul office as an M&A associate for four years, he decided to pursue his dream to move to the US, and so he attended Duke Law, where he received an LLM. After Duke Law, Enes’s passion for entrepreneurial and technology related law lead him to apply for a job with Bowery Legal, where he joined the team in September of 2022. Enes feels a deep connection to his work, and is strongly incentivized in his work with the founders, entrepreneurs and investors the Bowery Legal represents to help them make a lasting impact in the world with their innovative ideas, and to help their companies and/or funds achieve the highest heights possible. To that end, he assists clients from formation until exit and every other phase in-between. To keep fresh, Enes plays soccer in his free time (and is a huge fan of professional soccer as well) and enjoys open-mic stand-up comedy shows.
